1970
Custom Electric was founded by two partners working out of a garage in Marlborough Park, northeast Calgary. We started out focusing on residential electrical systems for new home construction and renovations.1979
We installed the electrical systems at Pan Canadian Plaza (now EnCana Place). It was our first office tower project and multi-million dollar job.1985
Custom Electric installed the electrical and instrumentation system for its first natural gas facility for Poco Petroleum (now Conoco Phillips).1991
Our first international project was for Santos, an Australian oil and natural gas producer. The project involved installing the electrical and instrumentation systems on a compressor skid.1995
Completed our first project over $10 million. The project involved installing the electrical system in an office furniture manufacturing facility for SMED Manufacturing (now Hayworth).1998
Received our Certificate of Recognition from Alberta Human Resources and Employment for developing and implementing a workplace health and safety management system. We maintain our COR Certification to this day and continually improve our workplace safety management systems.2000
Custom Electric became an employee-owned company with over 120 employees.2008
Custom Electric completed its largest electrical installation for the $300 million Calgary Courts Centre. This facility is the largest and most advanced court house in North America.2008
Custom Electric grew to over 400 employees.
